Things have been mostly picked up after Christmas and everyone is busy doing their own thing. It is my turn to take some time for myself. I have a stack of fabric, cutter tablecloths, pillow inserts and rick rack. Whats a girl to do?
I am using this fantastic sunflower cutter tablecloth with some Michael Miller polka dot prints and a vintage white linen napkin.
The size of my pillow is 14x21 (travel size) and I worked out a pattern on my cutting board allowing for my seam allowance and places for vintage trim.
This spare piece of lace came off of an Estate sale napkin. I have used 3 sides of the napkin for 2 projects. I could kick myself for not grabbing more of them but hind sight is 20/20. I sandwiched it between the tablecloth and the napkin.
Rick Rack makes everything look better. Ruffles do too!
I made an envelope opening in the back for washing. Sewing is just gratifying. From nothing to something in hours. A little bit of new mixed with the old classics.
For now it will sit here, behind my back...I am looking for that perfect chair to slipcover in white. You know the kind that someone wants to throw away that you get for pennies on the dollar and love to bits. Yes, you know the one!
I am joining in on the fun at the Blogger's Pillow Party.

So pretty, especially because yellow is my favorite color :->
ReplyDeleteOh, the pillow came out just beautifully! I love your vintage picture too! A bright spot in a snowy cold day here in Michigan. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI now know what I will be keeping a look out for in the thrift stores! What a wonderful project! Thank you for making it look so easy! I wish to say how happy I am that you have begun a blog and have given us an opportunity to share in your wonderful creativity. I look forward to following along in the New Year! Merry Christmas, Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteOh gosh the pillow case is so nice. I need my computer chair recovered and I hate doing things like that so I'm putting it off. I really need to get moving on it as this computer and desk will all be moved down stairs to the new living room soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the ruffle, what a fun sunny color!
