A tub full...

What a timely find I found this morning.  This estate sale was in the older part of town, always my favorite.  More history there!  Usually, the estate is from a couple that have owned their home since it was built.  There are things in these homes that have been there since the marriage began, babies, graduation, weddings, wars and everything else in between.  Life happened in these houses and today's sale was one of those you remember.  I came home with a tub full!

Apparently the water bowl wasn't big enough.  Within moments Reagan had ownership of this sweet vintage baby tub.  By far my favorite find.  A mere five dollars for the size of a sink.  How many sweet bottoms has this seen...before Reagan's?

Bags of game pieces.  I didn't even know what I had until I came home and busted them open.  They were like a time capsule.   I am loving the Jell-well paper doll from the package of gelatin.  How did they keep track of a full deck of cards back then?  Seems I always find these full decks.

A sewers dream, needle books, button cards, giant safety pins, Bakelite seam ripper...I could go on and on...yeah!

Children's patterns like I haven't seen before.  Pajamas, cowboy outfits, jumpers, vogart stuffed toys, robes, coats and more.

Women's patterns.  Some have never been opened.  Decades old.

Men's patterns and miscellaneous sewing literature.  Those boxers are to die for.

Cookie cutters and Christmas.  This book is a pop up book from the 50's.  It has just a bit of repair to some of the pages but the lithos are amazing.

Teeny tiny decals on a teeny tiny bell....

Children's books and war books on the same shelf.

Well, I did try to get it loaded to take down to the studio...but...Reagan decided he had been patient enough and wanted his tub back.

  9. Looks like Reagan is ready for his bath. I've sewn a lot of things but boxer shorts never occurred to me - and I know I've never seen a pattern for them until today. :-)
