Bits and Bobs

Small treasures today while I slipped into a thrift store or two.  My first stop was a local fabric recycle store.  I hope this store makes it as it is such a gem of an idea to recycle fabric and notions.  I enjoyed slipping down the aisles and finding little do dads.  I followed that with a big box thrift store and I think I will pass on those until school starts as it appears to be more of a daycare experience for now.

A theme of pink and greens all tiny in all their bliss.

An enormous spool of vintage trim in just the perfect shade of blue green.  Looks like I will be adding this to just about everything.  For the price of $5.00 I couldn't say no.

A first edition Dennison? Now beautifully shelved with the other collection on my toy Hoosier.

I don't think it was ever used.  Inside is full of cute little wooden spools.

The most adorable gingham pink piping trim.  Must be for a baby layette.  Barely over 1/16th of an inch.

Beautifully suited with the two vintage sheets found at the thrift.  I only had my ring to size up next to it.    I am charmed by it for sure. My mind immediately planning where it will go and when....any ideas?

  1. Well, if it were me, I would use that gingham trim in doll clothes. But that's the phase of life I am in! LOL

  10. First off, your apron is stunning! I think I would want to wear it whether I was cooking or not! All of your recent treasures are great but when I looked at the photo of the pink trim kind of coiled up, I thought it would make a delicious rolled flower embellishment. So dainty on an apron....or a sweater. Whatever you decide will be awesome Renee!

  12. Love your opening pic with kitty in the cart! that would so be me when I was little!

I LOVE pink gingham and use it in my wreaths a lot. It looks perfect with that vintage sheet so I'd make an apron with the two!

    Have a great day! ♥

  14. Well I am not a seamstress myself but I absolutely love the idea of a recycled fabric store. I try to buy as much as I can second hand because not only is it less expensive but it is one of the best ways to reuse and recycle! So what a groovy shop to have in your corner of the world. And such cute finds, thanks for sharing :)
