Mrs. Dalton, my first grade teacher, always told us to put our thinking caps on. Me being the literal person that I have always been had such a hard time understanding the concept. I was quietly reminded of this over the weekend while watching another classic Peter Lawford and Jack Lemmon movie...It Should Happen to You. The leading lady made a habit of slipping her shoes off to think better...literally. Which gets me to my latest project. One that I had to put my thinking cap on for.
I never leave the thrift stores without perusing the toy section. This week I picked up this cute little wooden workbench that could be displayed with all my toys. Nice primary colors. Certainly priced right. But wait....
I knew it would be perfect for my own tools.
A girl and her scissors all put in their place. Really these little things just make me giddy. Too bad I don't look good in a cap. There would be genius here all day long...ha! ha!
Clever Renee!!!! and VERY cute! EAK! My comment is just parallel to your Mother's Day apron. Oh my gosh how sweet. You will have me sewing before long!
ReplyDeleteTag Swap - Renee, I completely forgot I am going to have my hands full with puppies for nearly half of September. For now I will put my swap on hold. I am also still stitching away at the special orders.
I get ahead of myself, for sure!

Thinking cap is definitely on...perfect re-purposing!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I just might have to find a toy for my workbench!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
SQUEAL! Brilliant idea. Josie's workbench (which also came from a thrift store) is on the top shelf of her bedroom closet. I think it will be getting a new home downstairs in my craft room.
ReplyDeleteI love it when things like this are repurposed! SO charming!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to keep an eye out for one of these - what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteRenee,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! You are so clever!!! I have all my scissors and cutters crammed into a little decorated tin and it is so hard to pick out the one I want, I end up pulling most of them out. Of course the one I want is usually one of the last ones I grab. Very cute! Good job!!

Renee what a great idea. My scissors are in a drawer. That would really make things neater and easier to grab. I may have to try something like that.
