Good news...bad news

It was sort of a good news bad news week around here last week.  Nothing major thank heavens.  With the kids back in school I attempted to find myself back in some sort of working schedule...what was I thinking?  Lots of little unfinished obstacles keep parking themselves in my path.

Good news first.  All my newest fabrics are in and they are prettier than I imagined.

From Nostalgia Organics this sweet set (minus Happy Days as it is yet to be restocked).  Delicate and sweet.  Very vintage nursery rhyme looking.  I really like the chicken wire print.

These gorgeous vintage feed sacks are a gift from the oh so sweet Donna at Donna's Lavender Nest.  Crisp prints with the most wonderful vintage cotton weave.

Lecien fabric prints that can be difficult to find seem even more special in my stash.

Amazing...detail and color like no other.  I have waited months for this Rosalie Quinlan fabric...Folk Heart.  It has become a new favorite.

I have found the sweetest little Japanese Etsy Sewing Shop.  I can't wait to try my hand at these feminine patterns.  I want to try more sewing for me this year...one can only hope. This shop is well priced and run by a lovely lady.  I recommend it if you are looking for Japanese sewing books.

For the bad news...the day after Christmas I order a handful of Lori Holt patterns from a little pattern shop on Etsy. I was so excited to have found them on Etsy I couldn't wait to start on something more advanced.  Well wouldn't you know it...here I am with all the fabric and no patterns.  I have emailed and emailed and now I have had to report the store to Etsy and still nothing.
(Please note this shop is not Lori Holt's just one that carries her patterns)

Complaining is not my nature so I will enjoy my fabric in all its beauty and hope that my good news bad news continues in this vein.  Heaven knows there are bigger problems that I could have. Bigger than missing patterns.

  1. Well, my goodness, I've never heard of such a thing on Etsy. At least you have all of your lovely fabrics. You take such nice photos of them too! Now I have to go check that shop with the Japanese patterns.

  6. I'm sorry you were disappointed by an Etsy seller. It reflects on all of Etsy and is so sad to hear. Right now Etsy is kind of like eBay was "back in the day" and I really hope it stays that way. I hope they will be able to help you get to the bottom of it.

  8. That is so dissappointing to not receive your patterns. I had an order dissappear from Amazon at Christmas. I wonder if it is just lost out there thanks to the Christmas mail load. Maybe it will find it's way to you soon.

    The new fabric is great!!

  17. Beautiful colors. I'm sure you will sew wonderful things with the fabric. Maybe you will get the patterns. I was cleaning out email just this morning and saw one from August that said my item shipped from Amazon. I don't remember receiving the book! I don't think it came and I didn't even notice. Old age -- but I'm only 51. Hummm

  19. I rarely have trouble and I order just about everything on line living where I do. I had trouble recently not receiving an order and called them after two weeks and talked with one man who was very nice, tracked down the problem and soon I received the package had been sent out. Not had any trouble with the Etsy shops that's too bad. Hope you resolve the issue soon. Nan

  22. It's just so frustrating. I wonder if sellers on Etsy don't check their orders regularly. What happens if they go out of town for vacation? Similar things have happened to me before but they have always eventually turned up with apologies. I hope you hear soon. Love all the fabrics. You have such good taste!

  23. I love it when I get in new fabric. Don't know why as I've got a zillion other pieces in my stash!
I'm sorry you had a bad transaction. Maybe it's like Renee said...or something urgent happening. I don't know what Etsy does when that happens. Haven't read the fine print. Hopefully, something good will come of it.

  25. Beautiful fabrics!! That's too bad about the Etsy store that didn't follow through. Maybe they are located in a part of the country that has had bad weather... my folks have been without power for 4 days.
