Pinked

I try really hard not to back myself in a corner with any one color.  It forces me to feel too matchy.  When I painted the studio a clean shade of white I felt the pressure to match all things release. The addition of the wall paper helps keep me reigned in.

Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old White mixed with Scandinavian Pink created this beautiful shade of powder pink.

Our old harvest kitchen table has been recently harvested for my studio. It was a yellow pine color in desperate need of some TLC.

Polka dot oil cloth makes cleaning the top easier.

It is my happy place.

A new little shelf on the end helps hide cords and clean clutter.  The buckets are for supplies and color.  (I added a few things for the picture).

Just a peek at a few stitches...

  1. Such a lovely shade of pink. Of course, you would create the perfect color. The oil cloth cover is the ultimate touch on your new table. I want to play hooky from work and create. Your special studio always inspires.

  2. Your room is so dreamy. I'm inspired by everyone using oilcloth on their tables. After just washing a vintage tablecloth that SOMEONE got spagetti sauce on tonight...a wipe off surface makes a lot of sense. Your little bookcase is adorable. You've done a great job Renee!

  15. Hello Renne! Love the pink! Love the table! I'm partial to farm tables in any color and I want one to be our big computer table. I found directions online for adding a pull out tray to one for the key board.

I'm loving the oil cloth on my hutch and would like it on my utility/craft table as well. It was a nubby type of surface that is sooo hard to wipe clean. You have pets in the house, right? does the pet hair cling to your oil cloth? I have 3 pets that visit my craft room and I've wondered about that. ♥

  17. "Pink is my signature color." (I will have to tell you sometime the eerie parallel between myself and the character of Shelby in "Steel Magnolias.")

I am in awe of your beautiful craft room, and really it would be perfect in any color! (But, I am glad you did it in pink!) I wish that I had more space, but I am thankful for what I have. Please share your wonderful space as often as you can, so that the rest of us can dream...

    Many hugs,
    Cindy

Do you get your oilcloth at the fabric store? I've never looked for it.
