Fabric Vignettes

Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet just launched her first fabric line and I have been anxious to get my needle in it.  It is so bright and fun.  If you haven't been to Lori's site please take a minute to stop and see how wonderfully creative she is.  Each post is full of the fantastic creations she makes with her needle and thread.

This line comes in the blue hues and the pink hues.  Needing to have one of all of them, I picked a layer cake and a fat quarter.  My name is Renee and I am a fabric hoarder.  I am realizing now I am a fabric line hoarder.  Madness.  Recently, I de-stashed to a sweet middle schooler who took up sewing for the summer.  This new line is helping to fill up my fabric locker...again.

Riley Blake is the company behind Lori's line.

A modern take on vintage patterns.

Charm for sure.  Not a detail overlooked.

This is my online fabric shop of choice.  Not only do they always have what I need, they ship really fast.

Oh the plans I have for this sweet line.  Right out of the cutest magazine/book from Australia. This comes from a shop called Fabric Patch that ships to the states.  Leanne House is the designer behind this publication.   Yes, it can be expensive but it is so worth it.  This is one of very few shops that I have found that will ship to the states.   I usually keep notes of patterns that I want to order and do it all at once every few months.

These English pattern pieces have always been my favorite.  I think Lori's line will be perfect for it.  A small 36x36 inch quilt for a table topper.

Just a peek at some of the other projects that fill the pages of this cute little magazine.
I cannot wait to start.  The next edition comes out June 1st...

  2. I'm Elaine and I'm a hoarder of fabric (and buttons) ... a genetic disorder for me ! What a great collection this is ! I've been playing with the fat quarters I posted about buying but haven't talked myself into taking the scissors to it yet :) You make such cute things can't wait to see this come to life.

  4. Gorgeous fabrics. I'll be sure to share this post with my Mom. She's never mentioned fat quarters and she's always looking for new resources. Have a fabulous weekend. The treehouse is officially ready to be painted!! Emma's Justin Bieber party happens Saturday afternoon. I told my husband to be prepared for lots of squealing.

  5. Love this fabric. I'm going to check out her blog right now. Thanks for sharing with us!!! Have a great weekend! I tell you what, I think I have those vintage patterns of the three children wearing those animal bibs. Just seeing that picture made me think of going down to my sewing room and looking. See, this is my problem. I see something and I get off track of the project I am working on now and want to start a new one! I must have ten or twenty things started right now, and I hop from one to the next. Yikes!!!

  6. I love Lorrie's fabrics too! Her color combinations are so sweet. And I always think that a charm pack is the best way to go! I love getting a little bit of everything :)

  7. I love fabric, too. The sad thing.....there aren't that many great fabric shops around these days!!! It's so great that wonderful lines are now available on line!!!! What great designs you picked up from Lori...and I appreciate knowing about the other fabric source.

You sure do find some great deals at your local flea markets. The ones over here where I live aren't very well stocked right now.

We missed some terrible weather last night, didn't we? My son (lives in Lenexa) said they were in the basement for awhile as the sirens were going off.

    Have a great Sunday!! dana
