Mending Monday again. This time a darling image of a poultry family. I spent two weeks researching and haven't been able to find any finished embroidery similar to this. Which leaves me winging it with color choices for my rooster.
I love every little thing about this. The eyes, the fuzzy chicks, everything.
Download original image here.
At this point you can can choose to transfer the image either light box or window. This time I decided to transfer the image to a twill fabric sheet (purchased here) and work it into a pillow. This can also be done for a quilt. Muslin papers are available as well.
I shrunk the image down from its 8.5x11.5 in. size to 7.5x9.5 in. to ensure I had enough room on the edge for my seam allowance.
Note: After one week of working with the yellow floss on black lines I decided it was time to change the image color.
This the image yellowed.
Download the original yellow sized image here.
Tonight while the College World Series game two is on I will continue to stitch dutifully. Can you guess which team we are rooting for? Carolina Gamecocks...
I just love the hen and chicks! I thought I might print it out and color it with crayons on one of these rainy days! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteToo funny! I'm going to suggest that you NOT use the word "chicken" while you are stitching tonight. Just saying.

ReplyDeleteBuck...buck, buck, buck!!!
ReplyDeleteI love...love...love your chickens, Renee! Thank you for sharing this great tutorial. I have been bitter by the embroidery bug! Do you think it's contagious? When I was with my Mom last weekend we sat and happily stitched for hours!
Blessings to you, my sweet friend,

This is adorable!
ReplyDeleteIsn't technology great? I love all the things I can do with just a computer! My hubby bought me a Silhouette Cameo, their design studio software and a drawing pad for my computer for doing my medical stuff recently. I surely don't wish to do it again, but I love my new toys! Now if only my hands would stop shaking so I could use them all.
Love ya'

Eke! So, so cute, I can hardly stand it! Clucking with happiness:)
