Just Ducky

I haven't been to an estate sale in weeks and I can feel the pang of lost treasure creeping in my mind.  Even weekly trips to thrift stores have been few and far between.  Thinking everyday could hold a contractor in the yard...and some have...I have kept close to home. Early this week I had a chance to pop in to an antique shop where a favorite booth was closing and pick up a few items.  The sweet image above was a long saved note card.  Although I can't imagine what the message would have been with a bird cage on her head?

A Remple ducky planter for my lucky growing Remple collection.

Oh how I have longed to find this darling vintage child's hanky apron...I would want to wear it every day if it fit.  I cannot wait to press it and prominently place in my room.

Gauzy hostess apron in its princess pinkness.

Mirro cookie cutter set.  I can't decide whether I like the graphics or the cutters more?

But it all started here...when a picture fell this past weekend and I lost it frame and all.  It required a whole new (vintage) one in its place.  Here she is in her Hummel happiness.

The expression at the bottom of the frame...Mmmm!
By now you might see all the white painted floors of the pictures have marked the beginning of a remodel indoors as well.  We have decided to pull up the carpet and tile the dining room to make it a library.  Because we didn't have enough going on.  It has become our winter project.  One that has already cost me a lovely vintage framed picture...and brought me a darling replacement.

That is an adorable picture!!

I have my mom's old Mirro cookie cutters but there isn't any Halloween ones. In fact, I have never seen them before.

The aprons are sweet.

I have no business going to any antique shops, estate sales or garage sales since I have had to pack so much up due to my grandchildren and their busy hands. But for some reason, it is driving me nuts not to take off and go looking. Thankd goodness the big flea market is this weekend. Maybe I will get my fill.

Stay warm.

Duckies and aprons...Love visiting you. Of course we are kindred sisters...you got all the sewing talent....lol

Why did you spend summer down here in my neck of the woods? You were so close...25 minutes to Shlitterbaun....if only we had been blogging then....lol

I picked up a little Hummel yesterday. She is so cute.

Love the elephant hankies so sweet. Winter projects I can relate, however around here winter projects never get done as fast as summer ones for some reason.

Renee, I was just wondering if you have heard of my favorite All Things Fabric and Wonderful blog gal, Monica of Happy Zombie. If you don't know of her already, I do hope you will peek in. Her sense of humor delights, her quilting skills inspire! Have a great day! PS Love your Flickr badge - it's so you! Elizabeth
