I really do not consider myself a collector. Although I love lots of things, I love order and neatness. These do not go well with collections. When I found Laurie's (aka Magpie Ethel) Spun Head dolls I was completely taken by each of their different personalities. So much so that I now have a collection...
My family of characters have been moved to a lower level shelf because my daughter and her friends love to come in and adore them.
They have become her favorite birthday gift to give. Last week a mother asked me where I got her daughters. Seems there have been some sparing between the sisters at their house.
A happy storage spot for seasonal characters to rest until their time of year.
Meri Mermaid
Daisy Dolittle (she occupies the balcony of my tin doll house...lucky)!
Mini Me with the most adorable thimble flowers.
Planted in a wooden spool and tagged with the tiniest label ever.
My Magic Needle!
(Laurie made her for me...check out that collar!)
Q-pid is so sweet.
Violet
Mandy Pandy
Mini Reagan
Peeps...yes I have named them all. It is a game my kids and I share in. The kids even get excited when Laurie post them. Each one wants to pick one out. Fun pieces to decorate with seasonally and everyday. Thank you Laurie for all the smiles.
Hmmm....which one will be next?
How cute they all are!
ReplyDeleteSuch creativity and cuteness!
ReplyDeleteYes, Laurie is very creative! Her characters are adorable, so I can see how they would become addicting! Thanks for showing us your collection!
ReplyDeleteErica :)

ReplyDeleteYou are welcome for all the smiles and thank you for the smile in return as I read this post...truly grinning from ear to ear. And the names! I love what I make and often just smile to myself as they come to life...this post makes me love what I do more!
ReplyDeletexo and happy day.
Renee, This was such a wonderful post. We don't get to see all of the characters in one place in Laurie's craft room. Such fun! Thanks for sharing your super collection! E
ReplyDeleteHow your collection has grown. Each one is so unique and full of special touches. Seriously. Great minds think alike. Who would have guessed we would both post our magpie treasures today on our blogs. Thinking of you tomorrow while I'm at the outdoor antique market. It is suppose to reach 93 degrees.
ReplyDeleteOh you lucky gal to have so many of Laurie's spun heads. I too a adore them but don't have this many. I have that chickie from Laurie however and a 4th of July spun head which is out now in my craft room.
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute!

What a sweet collection! I can see how your daughter and friends would love to admire them so often. Maybe these dolls will inspire them to become artists?
ReplyDeleteA great collection and the way you have them displayed is so fun. I've seen these on blogs, but I'm not familiar with them. Another thing we don't have around here.
ReplyDeleteLaurie sure has a way with a spun head, that's for sure. Love your collection!!
ReplyDeleteRenee, I had to come again for a break between organizing and labeling all of my posts. This is just such a fun post. Love that Magpie! E
ReplyDeleteSo darling! Each has it's own distinct personality. I'm loving them.
ReplyDeleteLaurie's spun heads are all so cute! Such a fun collection!! I really like the little mermaid!
ReplyDelete(PS- dont confuse collecting with hoarding. Collections are at their best in the hands of neat and orderly people. Think museums and libraries.)
I've kept your blog open on my computer all day. I just keep coming back to look at your sweet treasures! Thanks for sharing the close ups! You have so many of the things that I love, too!
ReplyDeleteWHat a cute collection. They are really sweet!
ReplyDeleteJust love visiting your blog. I always come away happy. Thank you for being such a breath of fun, fresh, creative air in my day. Have a good Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteI can see why they are so loved. They are the cutest things ever.

Love seeing these on Laurie's blog - and on yours! It only makes sense you have such a good collection!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection Renee. I collect LOTS of things but my Magpie Ethel spun heads is one of my favorites. Will have to do a post on them soon!
