Cartoons and Felt

To be honest, I didn't realize it was Friday. Our Sears Harmony Colors will be back next week. Sorry for the complete lack of calendar knowledge. Can I blame the heat on that too?

The Cartoon Tag Swap finally arrived and it is full of color and memories.

Dennis the Menace, Huckleberry Hound, Mighty Mouse, The Flintstones, Chip and Dale...

Jinxsy, Yogi Bear, The Archie's, Tom and Jerry, and more.

A star studded line up of ladies who couldn't have been sweeter or more artistic.

Each one a reminder of early mornings on Saturday perched in front of the television close enough to change the dial or adjust the antenna.

Thank you to our wonderful hostess Tammy of Tammy's in Love. You can pop over and see her posts about each of the tags and their contributors.  You will laugh, enjoy some memories and perhaps need a hankie or two. Nickelodeon has nothing on these classics.

I hung these tags on a long over due felt garland.

Dripping in vintage cake ballerinas.

It will remain a work in progress as I think some tulle is obviously in order.

The boys come home tomorrow and supposedly the heat will come to a miserable end as well! One more day at 108'F lest we forget just how hot it has been.

  2. EEEEE! 108 degree is just wrong!
I love Mighty Mouse. When I was a little girl I would pile the bed pillows up on the sofa and pretend I was Mighty Mouse and leap off.

  12. Please tell me that those pinwheels where part of some easy craft kit or something by Martha Stewart, and not something that you made yourself! If you whipped those up too, then you are seriously off the charts good!!! And I'm envious!

  13. Oh, I love the pinwheels! I might have to be a copy cat and make some! ;) I just ordered some cute craft paper, to make paper ones, but using felt is so creative! Hope your weekend is lovely, and it cools down a little for you!

  21. I love how you made them into a garland. I've decided to do a cartoon themed Christmas tree this year and hang mine on the tree! So I'm hitting the estate sales, flea markets and yard sales in search of cartoon figures. This is going to be fun!

  23. Hi Renee!
I'm so glad the heat is starting to let up. Your poor boys are going to be so glad to get home. I can only imagine how hot it has been for them being outside!

You've done it again, my dearest friend! Your swag is absolutely the cutest one I've seen! I have yet to make a swag and now that I've seen yours...I have just got to get one made!

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. You are always so positive and encouraging!
By the way, I machine embroidery my own tags on twill tape. I suppose I could order tags, but, I'm a bit of a cheapskate! LOL

    Hugs,
    Carolynn xo
