Happily at my sewing table...I think this was my first sign of what was to come. Remember these. I love little people. This is one of my latest acquisitions. Sue at It's a Very Cherry World is hosting the cutest swap and I was lucky enough to get a spot. Part of the swap includes making anything that includes your partners initial. My partner Amy of Paper Trails Leaver does such gorgeous paper crafts that I was stumped. Off to my cupboards to find some inspiration.
Not long ago I grabbed a stack of patterns at an estate sale. I remembered seeing a monogram pattern and oh the goodness inside...but they were all H's. All different sizes. Big to little. These monogram transfers are done in silver. They are stunning on their own.
I had to get creative to make my A.
Then I had to pick the perfect vintage hanky from my collection. Then I needed to perfect my lines. The transfer still worked after all these years.
Thread. Needle. Hoop.
I was surprised how simple this was.
Such a beautiful addition to a vintage piece.
Looks like it was meant to be an A all along.
Now...pick the perfect fabric pieces and keep on stitching....
I will keep you posted.

You do such beautiful embroidery!
Such beautiful embroidery. What a lovely gift for your partner. It's just a lovely addition to that hanky. That fisher price little person sewing figurine is TOTALLY you. My mother kept all our fisher price people & furniture and it's one of the favorite things to play with when the girls visit grandma/grandpa's house.
Gorgeous! Love your monogram! Jealous-jealous too! Thanks for sharing your fabby stuff!
:-)
Oh pretty I've actually never done embroidery like this. I admire it so much and would love to try it sometime.
I just got some initial tranfers, too- you make it looks so easy, I'm going to give it a try.
How clever to make A out of H. And it looks so good on the hankie. Can't wait to see it finished!
Oh, your'e just torturing me! I want to see it all!!!! Love your embroidery, it's stunning!
great idea - loving what you did with your A!
Also loving the fisher price girl - have a teeny tiny little collection from my childhood and keep meaning to build it back up

(wish I hadn't bitten the Mum's bun off to give her 'short hair for a change')
This is beautiful! I love the monogram idea!
