Tiny Stitches

I have never sewn doll clothes.
Always fearing that the intricate cuts and tiny turns might make it far too difficult.
Anything is worth a try, right?
Needless to say this little sewing task has been quite the adventure.
With my Simplicity pattern in hand I set off for lots and lots of stitches.

Apron with ruffles.

Aprons with rick rack.

Over the head aprons.

Ruffled aprons.

A plethora of aprons fit for a clothes line.
 Fully dressed and pressed.
With enough tiny stitches for a lifetime of hanging...

This sweet set is headed off to Sandy at 521 Lake Street.
Sandy made a special request and sent all this lovely fabric.
Sandy, I do hope you like them.
They are headed your way next week.

  6. I've never seen a pattern like this. I can't believe how darn cute these are and the fabric and trim choices just perfect. For someone who hasn't ever sewn doll clothes I'd say you did a bang up job there. Sandy will adore them I'm sure.

  9. This is an amazing set of doll sized aprons Renee! They will look so cute in Sandy's laundry room...hung on a clothesline I hope. When I was little, my Mom made all of my doll clothes for my 8" and 10" dolls. Slips, dresses, coats...so many details. Once, I traded a bunch of them for "store bought" doll clothes...you can bet my Mama made me march them right back and get the homemade ones back.

  11. You have to have lots of patience to make all of those sweet little dresses, Renee! And they're going to such a nice home too. My Mom made clothes for my Barbies when I was little, and I still have some of them. She even knitted a wedding dress for Barbie, which she never used, because she is just too busy to settle down with Ken!

  16. Your tiny aprons are so sweet! (Little clothes are so hard to make! I would much rather make big pieces, than small.)
