The long project...

This one seemed like it wouldn't take as long.  I intended to do it in the carpool lane.  I have 3.  One at each level of school.  I like to get there early and enjoy that peace and quiet time, but life never goes as planned.  Months later, I am finally done.  There is something about the end of the year that makes me want to wrap up projects.  I do love how it turned out.  This is a Janelle Wind pattern.  You can find her link on the side.  I had to have it shipped from Australia, I can't find her anywhere over here in the states.  She is a gifted Australian artist with a wonderful book full of pages of fun patterns. Her blog will direct you to a source if you are interested.  I have done several and they are very easy to follow.

I love the pattern fabric mixed with stitching and throw in a few vintage buttons off center just to call it my own.  There was a ton of stitching.  I wasn't prepared for the amount and of course I over did it.  How can you not?

It will be my new travel stitching bag.  I try to always carry a stitch project with me to ball games, carpool, in the car really.  That might explain why it takes me so long to get done.

I've been doing some more stitching and sewing lately.  Finishing up Christmas gifts.  I am off to a few sales this Thursday and my oldest has finals on Friday.  Oh the joy...To soothe the pain of it all I think I will hit the thrift store tomorrow!

Oh my goodness, tomorrow is the day! I can't wait to share you with anyone who happens my way! Such inspiration to be found here along with joyful photographs. I hope it is okay to "borrow" photos for my post. I can't wait! By the way, thank you so very much for my beautiful ornament! You couldn't possibly know it would go with my New Year's themed crafting items. I just love it! Your gesture truly touches my heart. Elizabeth
