Estate Sale...

Wednesday morning had me hopping off to a pre-sale for a friendly estate.  From the line of cars I was worried.  I am a photo person.  The excitement of seeing things amidst the clutter. This sale came with a list.  It sounded phenomenal...3 full floors of the house, a garage full of tools...it was kind of a dud.  I did find a few things.

A salesman size dresser.  Oozes charm.  Needs lots of elbow grease.  I couldn't find any marks until I pulled out the drawers and found that it was hand made from crates.  The mirror had original artwork behind it circa 50's.

Child size broom.  Not too old but charming still.  Souvenir venue card packs that are so cute.  All still new in the boxes.

Metal memo board with strawberry decal...yum.  Dough kneader...I have plans for this.

Egg-stra-special plastic Easter garland and a gold glitter Santa pick.

I love these plastic flowers that are sandwiched in between the eggs.

Chenille, gold glitter and Santa's happy face.  Adding him to my stash for fall.
Heading out to run errands tomorrow in the cold wet rain with my stitching in tow.   Very thankful it is not slush!

The garland is amazing but that dresser is just wonderful. I have such an obsession with miniature doll hutches and dressers. I'm in love and extremely envious. Good for you. Someday, I will skip work and attempt my first estate sale. You and Magpie Ethel are my estate sale inspirations.

I would say that was a fairly decent sale. The egg garland would have definitely made its way into my basket! I hate it when an estate sale sounds phenomenal and it ends up a dud...at least you did not leave empty handed!

Hello Renee!
I'm glad that you were able to come home with some nice treasures despite the pre-sale not being what you'd hoped. The red magnetic board is in terrific condition and the little festive Santa is adorable! I think I might have had a souvenir card pack when I was a child - brings back memories! About the rain as opposed to slush -- AMEN to that! I'm STILL waiting for anything to bloom here in Boston. It is Spring, isn't it?! LOL!
Take good care...

Renee that dresser is adorable! And that someone was so resourceful to make it from crates. Very sweet!

It's hard to tell the size of that dresser and you say made out of crates. I've never seen this and not really sure what you mean by crates, what kind? Love those colorful eggs and the flowers too and that Santa so sparkly and vintage looking. I think I have one like him with red and no sparkle.

I have not been to an estate sale yet. I would love to go. How do you hear about the ones you go to? The newspaper? Love seeing your finds. So great!
