It's in the mail...

Our mail arrives late in the afternoon.  I have always wondered who gets their mail first thing in the morning?   The mailman has told me over and over to stop apologizing for having to bring packages to my door.  He said it gives him job security.  He is a nice man.  I enjoy the extra steps he takes to help my mail safely arrive...this past week was no exception.

Every once in a blue moon you run into someone who just speaks your language.  I am fortunate enough to have a few close friends and a husband who either pretend to speak my language and or tolerate me...Ha!  Blog land has brought one such person to me.  We speak the same vintage language...likes, dislikes, vintage treasures and tastes.

The package that arrived from this sweet blog friend was so perfectly me, I welled up tears.  I just happen to be the person in my family that no one buys the right gift for so they have given up.  This was so heartfelt and beautiful, I wanted to leave it in the box and treasure it.  Button cards, doll dress, tiny tales book, vintage Easter treats, cookie cutter, bingo cards, rick rack and a beautiful Chinese lantern.
A wonderful treat that I will treasure forever...a friendship I am glad to have found.
Thank you Miss K.

A face that we all recognize has come to live in my studio.  He brought some woodland friends along.  This is perfection at its finest.  I cannot begin to tell you my excitement at opening this tiny package of sewing greatness.  I have studied it in great detail.  Each piece delicately sewn together, no knots to be seen.  Hidden stitches everywhere.  Masterful in the stitch length and tautness.  So many lessons to be learned in each little detail.  I should put this under a glass dome for sure!
Thank you Miss E.

Recently, I became a lucky winner over at birdie blue.  Molly has extremely good taste.  She picks perfect colors and adds wonderful details to all the rooms in her home (outside too!).  Each of her posts are inspiring and thoughtful.  I have treasured this sweet Cath Kidston giveaway since I received it.  Beautiful, detailed, colorful and fun...
 Thank you Miss Molly

Pin cushions with millinery, brooches, ceramics, and vintage fabric/trim all together in one item!  You don't have to ask twice.  I collect these like Magpie's Spun Heads.  Another gifted artist with a heart of gold and humor to boot.  Beth Holcombe makes them like no other.  This is my Easter Bunny that arrived in the mail for Spring.

The fun that I have with the mail that comes in must be shared.  This is on its way out in the mail to Nan.  She is the winner of the apron giveaway.
 It's in the mail today!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the wonderful women who make this such a wonderful place to exchange ideas, laughter, thoughts, and sometimes special packages.  My family does not complain about my time crafting or blogging because of the happiness it brings not only me but them as well.

You have some wonderful blog-friends! (And a wonderful blog, yourself). I just found it and am really enjoying your old posts. I was especially interested in your apron giveaway as I've promised my readers my first giveaway when I get to 50 followers!

You have a wealth of good friends and fellow dreamers and vintage lovers. I am so glad you are able to receive such loveliness and share it with us all. I get so excited to see that there is a new post from you. I shared your blog with my sister, who is just as enamored as I am.

Such sweet surprises, especially that little pincushion. I have the same situation with my family. They know I love my little treasures (usually vintage) but I cannot convince them it is okay to give me something USED as a gift. Thank goodness for blog friends!
