Oh, how I love technology. Some of the finest are vintage. I'll even throw in a few reproduction pieces if I must. After an entirely to long, cold, windy weekend of softball and baseball, I am recovering. Not completely...there have been a few speed bumps in the road. I will spare you till the end of the post. Anyway, I really wanted an old pink or aqua tube radio. With my studio being in the basement, reception was an issue. The gorgeous Cath Kidston radio was out of the question because it was European. They have different radio waves than FM and AM. Trust me they are stunning. After months and months of looking I ended up at square one.
This is my reproduction Crosely tweed portable radio. Not too shabby. Being the talk radio junky that I am this works perfectly. Hmm. Nothing digital on it.
This one is a fan favorite...ha! With its sweet flower cage and wonderful paint patina it is perfection. It gets stuffy in my studio and I needed a fan badly. Not just a plastic one either. This one has been greased and refurbished.
Baby Ben keeps me in line with his gentle clicks. I love that he is wind up operated. With the same jadeite color on his hands and numbers.
Speaking of technology...this morning my girlfriend called and said I was in Scotland? Funny I don't even have a passport! Someone royally hijacked my email for the second time and was sending out to all my contacts that I was in dire straights and needed money. Seven hours of recovery later...I am finally back to pseudo normal. Seems my sons new phone applications that were attached to my email account were all spammed! Sorry for the confusion. If it doesn't sound like me, it probably isn't. Most likely you will see ... in something I wrote!
Note to self: Be careful of technology!
