Wilendur tablecloths are like the Saks 5th Ave of tablecloths. Bright with color. Crisp with detail. Rarely found at sales and hardly ever in my budget. Sometimes I cling to them without knowing what to do except store them. And then...this gorgeous curvy chair came along and I realize I could enjoy the best of both worlds so to speak.
I have had this stainless beauty for so long I cannot even place it. The fact that it is so large leads me to believe that it saved for special occasions and large family gatherings. Gorgeous red roses in full bloom all year round on a french chair...oh I am not done yet!
Trim! Savory gingham red and green just enough to make the chair beyond charming...
I would love to tell you that I finished but I didn't...I ran out of staples...right as the hardware stores closed. Gingham piping. These are few peeks of what is to come.
A view from the back. I painted the chair in a grey milk paint and followed it with a dark stained briwax. The shadowed leaves in the tablecloth are grey and I tried to capture that shade.
It is worth every minute of this hand ruched trim. I will be putting this on everything I am so smitten.
Just a hint of the distressing on the edges of the wood.
I didn't do my sewing alone. Phog, (our bull mastiff), joined me along with his beloved Pooh bear. I love how he laid his head on the pillow/bulldog's bed and made sure to keep Pooh close. That bear goes every where and he waits by the washer until it is clean.
I am headed out in the morning to grab staples. Finishing touches tomorrow. I cannot wait to show the whole piece.

Loe the ruching! I have done it in miniature, but this looks fantastic!
Can't wait to see the final outcome-
thanks for sharing!
Oh my goodness, it's going to be beautiful! I have no idea how to recover furniture, so I am in awe of your talents. Your dog is so cute, with his pooh bear at his side.
Well I can't wait to see this. I'm just amazed at your talent for projects I would not think of trying. I have that table cloth too!!
That is so sweet how your dog has his Pooh and carries it around. My two can't have stuffed animals anymore they ingest them and cause trips to the vet. The vet in fact wants them both muzzled outside but I'm going to try a shock collar for eating things outside. Have never had to resort to one but we have a problem here with potential blockages.
can't wait to see the finished chair, renee. gingham piping? stop, you're killing me.
it's looking a m a z i n g.

There's not too many things more frustrating than running out of staples, and the hardware store is closed! I think I've already fallen in love with this chair, and I haven't even seen the whole thing. Please hurry up and get those staples!
i can't wait to see the finished product! i LOVE the picture of Phog and his Pooh Bear ... ADORABLE!
Renee you are so talented. I love your chair and how you decided to cover it. That is so sweet Phog and his Pooh Bear.

You're something else, girl! ♥ It's going to be soooo awesome!
(I gave a Christsmas stocking to a swap partner with that some fabric!)
I am in town buying groceries and have temporary internet access. Your sneak perks are gorgeous. What a sweet picture of your studio buddy. I found the most delicate paper lanterns at an antique store today. Thinking of you.
Can't wait to see the finished chair. Phog and Pooh...how cute is that?
Have a happy day Renee!

I love it so far...the ruching, now that is something you don't see on furniture. I'd be so afraid of making a mistake & not having enough with such a cloth. Can't wait to see it done.
Your dog is adorable with his bear.
