Sadie, Sadie pretty lady.

She made it.  The traveling "Friendship" bag has stopped at our house for a brief visit.  This is a story of a bag "Sadie Mae" and her dog making the rounds across the country picking up recipes and postcards from blogs along the way.  All of this has been made possible by travel agent Cindy from Rick Rack and Gingham.  At the end of her summer journey she will be lovingly gifted to a kindred friend of Cindy's who lost her husband and could use a few hugs.

Sadie just arrived from Michigan.  Via, Monica from The Chicken Wrangler.  Monica sent along one of the nicest gifts.  This is a stitching piece and hoop that she picked up at a Michigan estate sale of an elderly crafter.  The note attached had sentiments to continue the crafting spirit.  Very sweet Monica, Thank you.

Not one to wait to do things.  I quickly added my Kansas recipe and postcard to the box.  (Cindy this is so well planned.)

Choices of Kansas favorites...hmm!  Chocolate covered sunflower seeds.  Jayhawk...of course!  Vintage sunflower colored gingham apron all packaged in a Kansas flour bag.

Sign sealed and almost delivered.

How cute is this bag?  All decked out in Mary E. fabric, polka dot and jumbo rick rack.  Toto jumped right in to tell Rufus all about the scout adventure and how hot it was.

There is plenty of sun here for everyone.  We took Miss Sadie to the pool for an evening swim.  It was more like bath water temperature but pleasant all the same.

I let the girls swim while I started some of the stitching.  It won't be long before this bag gets boxed up and sent in the mail again.  Next stop...Nebraska.

PS. That pool looks just about perfect in your heat wave.
