A drive out of town to pick up something necessary. In the shadow of the rain flashing thrift store sign. OPEN
Jammed in a bin. Tossed in a zip bag like leftovers.
Audible sighs when the long sought canister peeked from the bag.
A dutch winter scene.
Wolverine
A few feet away another blue...peeking from the toy bin.
For fear that I might draw more attention I silently plucked it from certain solitude.
An apron is donned and the tea is whistling...
Tiny fingers hooked through the cups. Baby dolls and teddy bears tucked in behind the table. Saddle shoes and ankle socks keep the sweet hostess on her toes. This was a tea set from Christmas morning. What might be rubbish to some is pure pleasure to me.
What sweet sweet finds! Oh joy!

ReplyDeleteOMG!! What a wonderful find!! Don't you love the metal tea sets?
ReplyDeletechris
LOL...Well now I feel better! If you read my last post you'll see I feel the same way! And you said it way better than I did..."What might be rubbish to some..."
ReplyDeleteAnd I had to laugh about you trying to be quiet and not draw attention to yourself in the thrift store! hahah
Isn't that totally what we do???
I'm happy you found your blue little treasures!
Lucky you! Those are some sweet blue finds--I love thrifting and seeing what my fellow-bloggers find too. Have a great Friday and weekend!
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEK! I can't believe you found that in a bin. Okay, yes I can because it happens and it is what keeps us searching. Renee, this is a top shelf score. High five!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Renee! My daughter and I were at Winners the other day and she saw a Bunny teapot, with the cream and sugar set. I talked her out of buying it, she has 3-4 other teapots, still lives at home, where am I to put all this stuff? I know, it's soo hard to decide what you need and don't need. She is having an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party in a month, so it would have been sweet, but how many teapots can a person have?
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl, you! I have never walked into a thrift store and been that lucky! Love the beautiful graphics, and the sugar tin! Time for a tea party!!:) Absolutely lovely find!! :) xo Heather
ReplyDeleteNOT FAIR!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm up for putting out a motion that you not be allowed to shop anymore unless I'm with you. Dang woman, I've been in a constant state of drool when I read your blog......help, my shirt is soggy!
Okay, that was weird, but hey I'm not gonna' lie, I keep tryin' to come up with a spell or somethin' that will give me the same kind of luck out here. In fact, you're lucky I wasn't there, cause I'd probably mow you down to obtain possession of those.
Yes, I'm tired and in pain, so I'm whining. I'm really happy that someone as wonderful as you finds these things, but geez, leave some for us. This is the same kind of comment I leave for Laurie Magpie Ethel!
Love ya'
Meri

Renee,
ReplyDeleteI'm truly green with envy. How lucky you were to find this. I have the little blue sugar canister from that set-and I love it. Great find! Have a great weekend.

Shhhhh...did you hear it?
ReplyDeleteIt was this sound that reached S. Texas...it sounded like a silly giggle with a yippee attached to it. First it was kinda quite..I wasn't sure what I was hearing...then it got really loud...and now...well it sounds like a kitty purring.
I asked the vintage angels...and they said it was a happy woman who was enjoying a special find. Awwww
like me...you hold it in in the store....then you do the dance to the car...and the sounds erupt in the car....you sing all the way home...and then you play with what you find...and you share with your girlfriends. Yep a vintage find...I thought I recognized that sound!!
I am so happy for you....just precious!!!!!
Hugs Cindy from Rick-Rack and Gingham
Such lucky finds! I always try to stop in thrift stores in other towns-who knows what's been hiding there (perhaps for months or years!) that everyone else has passed up!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful what a great find for sure...it's very sweet..love the blue and the winter design...happy weekend...Janice
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those are soooCUTE! A truly lovely shade of blue. I can just picture a little girl dressing in her apron to serve tea to her dollies.
ReplyDeleteHi Renee!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love popping in and seeing what you've been up to! I love...love...love your wonderful blue treasures! I have a collection of blue pretties...and, am inspired to make a little vintage looking dolly dress to complement them! You are such a talented and artistic lady!
Blessings and smiles, too!
