Oh Deer!

I couldn't resist this gorgeous image that I found over at www.freeprettythingsforyou.com/.  She has some great stuff, it is worth a visit.  Short of making this for myself (didn't think I could get away with it at my age)  my daughter is the gifted recipient.  Guinea Pig, usually for all my endeavors.  This one took no time at all and was a nice change of pace.  I made a--mends with my sewing machine and she worked like a champ.  Ha!

I took a $4.99 Target turtleneck, some scraps of this great seersucker red and white fabric.  Who doesn't love a good seersucker?   Ruffled the cuffs that I cut at 3/4 sleeve and sewed a matching headband.

Just for giggles I added this twisted fabric rose that resembles a peppermint.  I put the flower on a pin back because it is easier to wash.  The leaves are green grosgrain ribbon.

I am counting the years that she will be able to wear these fun outfits.  She is nearing that age of being too cool for these things.  She  asked to wear it tomorrow to school with a pair of jeans and some black flats.

On another note, I am really close to finishing up an ongoing stitching project...hopefully tomorrow I can finish it up and show it off.
