A first...

With the snow cleared and the kids back to school, I headed out for some much needed treasure hunting. There were no scheduled estate sales due to inclement weather and the thrift stores have been so picked over so I headed to a local antique mall to see what I could find.

A first...head vase.  Is she not the cutest.  Do not ask me to pick between Alice and Gidget.  That's what I named her.  After those sweet Gidget movies.  Just perfect.  I have added her to my desk to hold my small scissors collection.

Klutz that I am, I almost stepped on this sweet doll dresser from the 60s.  Loving all the colors and details.  It too, is now safely off the floor and on my desk for all to see.

This is what Vintage Love for me is.  A good decal.  Great color and chipped paint.  Yum!

I passed this print several times.  It has such a a pretty image and the frame has the red stripe.  I knew I would kick myself if I didn't pick it up.

I am not much for antique stores as I always feel like I am getting taken.  the prices are ridiculously high. It seems like they want to keep their items with those prices.  My issue with the shops is the way they pack the goods in so tight you can't even get through a booth.  Really people, please don't put such precious pieces on the floor.  Heaven knows what else I left because I didn't hit it with my foot.

I do hope there is a good estate sale next week, I am longing for a bargain and a treasure.  Today was a bit sparse on the goods and exhausting picking through a sea of clutter.

I've been so disgusted with the antique stores lately! I keep seeing the same things I saw at them months ago. And I'm not seeing any of the things that I like to buy. Like Gidget. She's fabulous, and I just watched that show yesterday. It's on for an hour every day! I would have brought home that sweet little dresser too. I can't wait for flea market/garage sale season to start!

Your head vase is so cute! I collect them too. You'll be seeing them everywhere now-hopefully at good prices since everyone else seems to love them too! That little dresser is adorable too. I love the little decals.

Renee my banner is up. I'm considering buying the background too. Now did you put your background up yourself did you say? I could try and fool with that myself but will probably mess up.

Hello, we are new to your blog. We just love it! The thrifts around us haven't had much either. We just had to stop at an antique store last week so we could see some goodies...We came home with a Coke sign! Great finds, we love that head vase. We agree that they pack too much into the booths, and we have tripped over things also, luckily nothing broke! Sometimes you can't even get in a booth you just have to look around with your eyes! We too can't wait for a good treasure hunt!
