Simple...DeLuxe

Remember when things were built to last a lifetime and they came with the warranty?   You didn't have to pay extra or read between the lines to see what the exclusions were.  When we first got married my husband bought me a machine with all the bells and whistles.   It was fun until I had to get it cleaned, yearly!   After 10 years of fighting with all the digital buttons and such I put that baby in the garage sale. Two years ago when I got the sewing itch again...this is what I bought...it has the lifetime warranty built to last I long for.

Deluxe model sewing machine made in Japan.  I won it on eBay from a gentleman who owns a sewing machine shop in Canada.  This was completely refurbished back to factory standards.  Honestly, it was well worth the $400 price tag.

This is an old industrial shop machine that will sew through layers of heavy fabric or the lightest of organza.

It is fully motorized but I love the control I have with the wheel when I need it.  It even winds bobbins.  The only stitch it does is straight.  I found the back stitch a few months ago by accident.

Stitch control is amazing.  With the slightest little movement I can adjust for almost anything.  One of my favorites is to make a hem length stitch and pull it for the best ruffle around.

All of the detail on this machine is icing on the cake.  No fancy feet, stitches, or embroidery here...not even a button hole.  On the other hand it never skips a stitch, knots up or powers out on me either.

Reagan (owner of our home) decided to spend time with me this week.  He was fascinated with the spool on top of the machine.  Never did come any closer than this perch though.

We always need birthday gifts around here.  There is always a party invite slipped in at the last minute..."Oh, Mom  So and So asked me...."  You know the drill.  I made these interchangeable ruffle headbands with some Amy Butler scraps.  It doesn't take much to get me excited about sewing.  It's the little things.

I will announce the winner for the Apron giveaway on Friday...thanks for all the sweet comments!

Your sewing machine is just beautiful. Stunning actually. I'm sending this post off to my mother...the seamstress and quilter extraordinaire! I wish I inherited those sewing talents. How nice that your daughter appreciates your handiwork. Regan is a very beautiful cat. My Penny often accompanies me in my craft room too. I thought of you often today while I dragged my mom and sister to my favorite antique stores. It was a good day.

Not only does it sew like a dream...that machine is total eye candy. The new ones just don't have the charm of those old ones. I got tired of driving over to my mom's to borrow hers when I needed it and bought my own a few years ago. I can't imagine not having one...but mine is a newfangled thing!

I would probably still be sewing on my Mom's old 1947 Singer if it would move faster but it got so slow. I'm sure it could be worked on, needs a new motor I would imagine after 64 years. This machine you have sure looks a lot like the old Singers. Boy they made them heavy duty in those days and that is why so many are still around and can be used. I'm sure you'll love sewing with it.

Well now you've inspired me to give my grandma's old Singer a go! I entered your giveaway earlier today but had to stop back to compliment your blog again. It is wonderful and know I'll be spending some time visiting!

I LOVE your wonderful vintage sewing machine/piece of artwork !!
My grandmothers machine was handed down first to my sister and now to my niece... both of them loved to sew, and I'm glad it's in good hands and being used regularly. Your Reagan is a very fine looking cat.

I would want to use that as a display piece. That is one gorgeous machine! Right now, my sewing machine is a display piece. But not because it's pretty. :-P

Your Reagan looks so regal sitting on his perch. Love how you were able to turn your fabric scraps into such nice gifts. Great talent! :-)
