Knock Knock

Well, I tried to get out of the house alone but seems Claire sensed where I was heading. This time we promised each other not to say "Oh look!".  It is such a distraction that it is hard to enjoy the trip.  I hate to say it but it was warm inside the flea market so we made our trip quick.  No lingering this time to enjoy all the old finds.  This time we power shopped.

Come on in...

Super excited to find this.  Claire loves that it has a patio!  I will spare you the unbelievable price.  We found a fantastic sprawling ranch on the way home from scout camp at the low low low price of never gonna pay that.  So this was a happy moment for both of us.

Fully decorated in fab fifties pink and aqua, Disney nursery, Schwinn bike and galvanized watering can.  I have already hung this on the studio wall for fear that Claire would claim it for her room.

Cute Marx chicken coop or a dog house?  Not sure but loving that flagstone.

Bread box beauty.  Of course its not Rednesday!

Something I rarely see.  A darling daisy dairy delivery box.  Hinged top still on.

Alright look past the dents and rust and look at that dreamy matte paint and tole detail. It used to be a hamper but I see beautiful storage!

Picture record for the wall.  Apron for a project...and Claire picked out a hankie for a monogram pillow. I would love to tell you that we are getting used to the heat or better yet that it has cooled of but it hasn't. Our yard has become a crispy mess.  All of the shrubs we put in this year have withered away despite the watering.  We have resorted to watering the foundation to make sure that it doesn't crack from the extreme heat and drought.  There appears to be some sort of cooling heading out way in early August.  For now we are stuck in 100's.  The car read 107' today.  I am ever so thankful that we have air conditioning.  My best friend and I are headed out sans kiddos on Friday for sure...

I must say that you two power shopped! Totally great finds - doll house and dairy box are awesome. I can't believe you are watering your house foundation...what a crazy weather pattern to have to deal with. May cool weather come your way soon.

Well that heat is terrible I wonder if this is the future to keep getting hotter like this? It also gets colder in places too as we are having very cool summer here more so than normal.

That house looks exactly like mine on the inside, except for the bicycle! I dug it out of the basement several months ago, and now it's sitting up on a shelf so that I can see it every day. Love all of your finds!

I had a doll house like that when I was little. I never remember having people to play with. It is in great condition. It would be cute hanging on a wall.

Oh my gosh - I am just drooling and hollering and wiggling in my chair at ALL your sweet posts of late! I have been busy sewing new tops and have not even looked at my blog. It is so nice to visit you this morning. I read that you used your vintage clothesline to hang your vintage hankies. I would so love to do that, too. I hope you don't mind if I copy...again, Sweet Renee! I must see if hubs wants to hang it for me today. It's in my dollroom right now. Thank you so much for inspiring me!!!

Love that doll house. Oh my goodness, never heard of having to water your foundation. I can't imagine and so sorry to hear the tole it is taking on your new plantings. Keep watering them, they might surprise you once the milder weather arrives!

Hi Renee, I wanted to thank you for all that you share with us in the vintage department. I have an eye now for so many things I would have otherwise overlooked. I hope you like the little something I have made for your craft room which can be found on my Flickr photostream. Take care, Elizabeth

I graduated from high school in Denver and I recognized that City Park Brookridge Farms milk box immediately! Wonderful find!

PRAISE FOR RED

What is there about the color red
That makes me want to stand on my head,
And give a loud shout or two of praise
For crimson tints that brighten my days?

Oh it's MY Doll House!! I had one of these EXACT little houses complete with all the furniture. I would buy this from you if you are selling and pay the postage. What wonderful memories I have of this little house. Do you mind if I use your pictures of the house for my blog? I'm going to do a post soon of things I remember from my childhood.
Thank you
