Blooms and Tools

It is dangerous to let me loose in a garden center. A little bit like the book store...almost like the fabric store...way too close to the flea market.

Recipe in hand, I gathered the plants needed.
(Recipes found from the Proven Winner Website.)

Having had the house just painted last fall, I am trying to discover the right color combination.

Deep purple snapdragons, million bells in shades of yellow and violet.

Licorice plant to highlight in frosty variegated tones, all held together with wasabi coleus.

All this rusty green goodness just in time for Spring.

Never far behind me...Mr. Reagan and his favorite...Cat mint.

Just inside, a wreath and bully sign hang for unsolicited visitors.
(Sign bought from the vintage crafter extraordinaire....Magpie Ethel.)

Vintage child garden implements just beyond the door.

Dressed up garden tools and seeds to place your keys near.

Just in case the dogs and sign don't keep the solicitors away...I will not hesitate to use my vintage bug sprayers on them!
(FYI we haven't finished putting in the floor moulding yet on the tile...patience.)

Love your rich plant choices. Gorgeous royal colors. Doesn't Mr. Reagan look like he's in cat heaven!! I never grow tired of seeing glimpses of your home (inside and out). Such lovely collections.

The colors you chose look perfect together! I like your green garden tools tucked among the foliage, and the little watering cans too. I don't think the "to do" list for a house ever gets caught up.

Your flowers and plants are gorgeous!! Such bright and cheery colors!! Love all your tin watering cans, and the bug sprayers!! So fun!! Your black door is beautiful with that gorgeous wreath!! I wanted to paint our door black, but since we are renting from my mother-in-law right now, I have to wait until I own my own home!! We did get to paint the inside grey, though!! ;) xo Heather

The color combos are so pretty -- love those deep blues. And Mr Reagan made me smile as we have a cat mint lover at our house as well.

Cookie has that licorice plant and I love the smell of them when repotting for her. Million bells are one of my favorites too. This summer I'm doing my baskets in purple and white with a little pink.
We can put nothing out until after Memorial Day.
