Mending Monday--Pot holders and Pets

Mending Monday today brings pot holders and pets? Beautiful wide eyed characters that look amazingly cartoonish. Perhaps this is why women liked being in the kitchen more back then. It was more fun!

I can't quite make out this character. Is it a beaver? Either way this is a cute oven mitt.

This one I remember hanging in my Mama's kitchen. She had it hung on the fridge with a metal cup hook magnet. Imagine it if full crisp color now...

A bear toy. Tied up with a bow and nestled under the tree at Christmas. Visions of feed sacks already spinning.

You will need his arms, legs and ears of course.

Should the bear not be your style...image a cute little dog or cat! Tell me these can't be that hard? I so want to try them.

My blogging pal Erica of Golden Egg Vintage sent me the cutest bundle of vintage charm. Thank you Ms. Erica. I love everything.

I am hoping to put the finishing touches on my Etsy shop and have it up and running by the end of the week. I will keep you posted.

You are such a sweetheart sharing your darling vintage patterns! I, especially, love the chicken potholder. I can't imagine using it...I'd have heart failure if my husband decided to take it out to the barbeque!

I do like that chicken pot holder! (Even though I think the chances are remote that I'll be making one any time soon.) Good luck on the store opening! You've hired the marching band and invited local dignitaries to the ribbon cutting, right?

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and go with one of my grandmas to the craft and rummage sales at the church. I just know I would find a few of those potholders! There would also be cross-stitched gingham aprons and funny things made from plastic bottles and pompoms and of course...those platic grapes! {{{sigh}}} Who wants to go back in time with me? We'll buy everything in the five and dime store! =D

I should be sending out banner tags this week.

I hate to cook, so if I can do it while using something cute in the kitchen, it makes cooking almost tolerable!
