Duck, duck, decal?

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time you know that I love vintage greeting card images.  I have an abundant collection that I pull from both digital and hard copy.  My favorite thing do with them is to scan them (if needed) and clean them up in photoshop.  In photoshop I can take out yellow marks and creases...pen marks and single out the image.  Last week I found another use...  This one I am tickled about.

This cute little vintage shelf came from a local shop that specializes in specialty "Vintage" boutique items.  I don't want to know how many people walked past this one...thankfully it waited for me.  I have been toying with this new product of inkjet waterslide decal paper.  Will it work?  Are the images going to be crisp?  Well...I tried it...and it's true love.  I will be decaling my kiddos soon.
eBay is where I purchased my paper.  I recommend the transparent paper. It looks more like the old original decals.

After printing the images the directions clearly state to spray with clear coat and dry for 30-60 minutes.  Patience...a quick sizing of the image and a trim with the scissors and a bath for a minute and these worked like a charm.

The possibilities are limitless.

Yes, I did already move things in my studio...I waited 2 whole days.  My decal delight didn't stop here wait till you see what I got my hands on next!

Oh Renee !
I found out about decals awhile back and I just love them!!!! I love your little shelf! Perfect in every way that sweet sweet pale yellow! I hada animal on my pink crib when I was little, I think it was a big lamb....so I have been in love with decals forever! If you want to put them on glass, just add a cute backround and it will be opaque! Sandy

We all love decals they are just too sweet and cute. Printing them off what a great idea. I need printer ink. I hate buying ink it's 75 dollars for the three of them I just cringe when I have to pay that doesn't seem right. Any suggestions on a printer? I have an HP Photosmart 8450. I always dream of a better printer.

Hi Renee,

I just found you, and I'm so glad I did. I can't believe Sandy (521lakestreet) didn't tell me about you. I've signed up as your latest follower, and I'd like to invite you to visit me and sign up to follow. My followers are eligible for my seasonal giveaways where I sculpt a custom piece for them. I mostly use vintage images as inspiration. Currently my spring giveaway is in effect......so come on over. www.imagimeris.blogspot.com, and you'll find my creations and my Etsy shop. I too use PS3 to clean up and fix images, which I also do as a side business. I hope you visit soon.

Hugs,
Meri
