Dragging my stitches along

I would have been the best girl scout.  I over prepare for everything. My stitching was all packed and ready for the trip.  I was going to get so much done... Except for that small problem in the car on the way down to Arkansas when my kiddo asked me to help him beat a level on the ipad of Angry Birds.  Madness ensued...I became obsessed with finishing the levels....all of them.  Who knew flinging a bird into sticks would be so troubling?  Next thing I knew we were at our destination.  I did not prepare for the game to get in the way of my stitching.

With embarrassment I show you where it stands now...the ring imprint still fresh.  In all its unfinished glory.  It will be gorgeous when I am done?

It is my first project out of the Rosalie Quinlan book I purchased this winter.

I can't decide if I like the fact that it asks you to use 2 strands of floss.  I am a 3 strand kind of girl.  Rosalie mounted her finished stitching to an artist canvas.  I have yet to decide what to do with mine.  Although it would make a darling pillow.   So, I apologize for being so late to the Sewing Christmas posts this month...the Angry Birds made me do it...scouts honor!

Linking this up to the lovely Sewing Christmas hosted by Miss Renee over at Sewn with Grace.

I love your honesty and your stitching will be lovely when it's done. My husband is totally addicted to that game too. He just installed it on my phone for our future drive across the state. I'm not sure if it's for me, the 12 year old or the 4 year old...hee hee.

PS. I linked to your doll bed post today on my blog. I confessed my obsession...I mean collection.

I love embroidery. At least it is started and ready to take along wherever you go. Time playing with your son is so important. I love the Aqua and Red you used. I am off to check out that book. I always use 2 strands. It will be wonderful.

I LOVE your blog. I felt like we were kindred spirits when I saw that you collect the same types of things I collect and then when I saw you were from Kansas too I knew it was true but the thing that put it over the top was that you love the Jayhawks!!!
What a fun time of year to be a Jayhawk!
I love looking at your blog-maybe one day I will get one for myself. For now I just enjoy looking.
Thanks for making my day brighter!
