A Few Pennies

Out of the house running errands again.  I stopped by to take a peek at a flea market.  For the record I would be happy if I didn't need to run errands more than once a week but it seems someone in my house always needs one more thing.  Figuring that when I can't get to estate sales, my local fleas will show me what I missed.

Tin never fails me.  Oh how happy this picnic tin is.  Looks like my red Bakelite knob is going to get a good spot.  Another film canister...this time red with the cutest decal.

Cracked and crazed...right at home and ready to be filled.  Vintage game pieces, cards, labels anything paper.  I'll get back to you on this.

Doll carrier a little rough around the edges, but ready to store hankies galore.  Pink and White on the outside...

and inside...the most darling polka dot and bachelor button paper.

Grab bag full of vintage linen fabric for under two dollars.  Inside I found bark cloth, brown and pink rayon and a vintage apron.  Who wouldn't want these?

After another long evening sitting in a strings recital...I came home to another list.  Mom don't forget to get this and this and this....How am I supposed to get any sewing done with all these errands?

I'll get back to you on that later...too!

What finds!! I especially love all the vintage linens and the doll suitcase. I tend to find excuses to hit my favorite antique store when I'm suppose to be at the grocery store, the drug store, gassing up the van..etc.

My goodness you found some wonderful treasures indeed! Everytime my husband goes to the grocery story for a couple of things, he comes back with oodles more which makes me crazy. His idea of pantry staples mine are not the same at all. :/ Best wishes to you and yours, Tammy

Renee, I am your newest follower. I found your blog through "Free Pretty Things For You". Your blog is beautiful and so much fun. I just love looking at all your pictures and treasures! I can just pop on to your blog for a few minutes and it actually makes me in a better mood. Thanks so much for sharing. I have so many projects and little vintage treasures that I love dearly, and I thought maybe someone else might enjoy seeing them too! "Ric Rac and Polka Dots" is the blog name, and I really hope you will stop by some day and visit. I hope it will be as much fun as yours, and I hope that my blog will also bring a little bit of happiness to someone just as yours did for me. Julie

Renee,
Thank you so much. If you don't mind I would like to grab your button and post it on my blog. I am only going to put buttons up of my absolutely positively favorite blogs, and you are definitely right up there on that list. I mentioned to Miss Elizabeth on Creative Breathing that her blog was inspiration for me, and I do want to tell you that yours was the other one. I spent a lot of time visiting them both, probably a month, and decided that I wanted to have something as wonderful as that, but didn't imagine it could really happen. But here we go! I only hope I can measure up someday. I really hope we can get to know each other! Thank you so much for posting, I feel SO IMPORTANT!
Sincerely,
Julie

I love that yellow apron!! I haven't unpacked my aprons yet. I'll have to go look for them and then find a place for them!
Loved your garden pictures down below. Your peonies are gorgeous. Mine aren't even a foot tall yet!

That bag of fabric for $2 was a real score - I would pay that for just the barkcloth!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today to visit my little birdies!
