Making modern cute...

My fascination with the Japanese Kawaii fabric is not new.  I have been hoarding a small piece of this darling Wizard of Oz fabric.  For obvious reasons I love the caricature, bright colors, and nursery rhyme look.  It doesn't hurt that it reminds me of my beloved state...Kansas.  I have been saving it for a favorite project.

Practical seating has overcome the beauty aspect in my studio.  I have been on a long hunt for a sewing stool.  Good grief they are miserably ugly.  What was I to do? (Bring back my thinking cap!)

Found this ugly duckling for 40 percent off.  Still too much...I then made mention to the sales lady that it had some wear and tear since it was a floor model.  She proposed an additional twenty percent off.  Now it was within my budget.

Seamstress magic.  There was just not enough of the Oz fabric so I added the last little bit of Red Riding Hood fabric.

Love the added color and contrast.

Yellow piping for a finishing touch.

More storage under the seat.  It is incredibly comfortable. Gives my back in support and my feet can touch the floor.  Four little casters make this stool super easy to move around.

There is no way I would have ever paid three hundred for this...but under a hundred was perfect for me. It never hurts to ask if it is the best price they can give you.  Some times it might just be in your budget.

The fabric is the perfect touch for your sewing chair. The makeover is just astounding.

PS. I'm in love with your Asian graphic. I've saved this for future CNY craft projects.

You really snazzied that baby up. it looks great.

That would of been a hefty price if you had paid full price!

That chair with your magic needle is now worth that $279 price tag...you did an amazing job. The mix of fabrics is brilliant.

Is it strange to not be able to put your feet under your chair? I think I must be a dysfunctional sitter! LOL

I'm starting to think that you and I were separated at birth, seriously! I do hope our paths cross because I think we could have a bunch of fun together. Have a great day!
