Story Books

It is no great secret how I feel about these darling vintage story books.  The Rand McNally Junior Elf Books are a favorite partly because of the size and also because of the titles.  The are just the most adorable little stories and this morning while reading my daily blog roll I came across a post by a favorite vintage friend.  Corey Moortgat-Collage Artist has started a Friday Vintage Story Book Party.  Something I can certainly appreciate and participate in.

I think the illustrations speak for themselves...

Thank you Corey for a wonderful peek into some of my favorite vintage finds.  I look forward to the coming weeks.  Stop over and visit for more Story Book illustrations...

I often find myself not even reading the older books... Because I am so lost in LOVE as I gaze at the ADORABLE and Timeless art...

Love that last page with the polkadots! I'm going to have to hunt for my little stack of children's books. I was thinking about the balerina one the other day and wondering where I put it... The one thing I know for sure is I didn't throw it out so it has to somewhere in my house. With only 1100 square feet it wouldn't seem like you could lose anything but, trust me, after 33 years in one house it CAN be done!

I'd like to live in Sunny Meadow! Such a sweet little book. I LOVE the illustrations. Children's literature and illustration plays a big part in who I am. It's my parent's fault... they read to my sisters and I non stop and now our family is full of librarians and teachers. I'll have to go check out your friends blog.

I just love all those sweet illustrations. Seems like such a wonderful time period to have lived in. I bet I could've worn those vintage dresses when reading to the children. Ahhh...

P.S. Thanks for asking about Maddie. She is doing well. Getting ready for the homecoming dance tomorrow, hopefully I'll have some pictures to share.

Such lovely illustrations. I can't help but bring home a children's book every time I visit my favorite antique mall. I can't wait to spend some time visiting Corey Moortgat's blog. Thank you for sharing.
