Mending Monday--Clothes Pins

Mending Monday brings a clothes pin bag. Found neatly folded in the pages of the pattern stack.

I am once again struck by the few sentences that create the primitive patterns of the past. As I can get very lost in today's wordy patterns.

Simple, charming clothes pin face.

Just a touch of flower work.

I think you are supposed to fill in the flower head on this one too.

Loving this image as much as I did I couldn't wait to get stitching.

Favorite fabric (Lori Holt's Millie's Closet) set the colors...

Added ruffle and rick rack.

She is a sweet addition to my laundry cart from Renee of Sewn with Grace.  I cannot help but think she would look just as cute on an apron.

I absolutely love that. It is so adorable! Thank you for sharing!

I have a special clothes pin apron that belonged to one of the other ladies at our church that passed away some years ago. I will have to share it some day!

This is so sweet!- Love it! You know, my mother told me that who could hang their laundry on the line first was a little neighborly "competition" about who was the best homemaker. Now we have dryers and the 10:00pm fold is our little secret - LOL!

Too Cute! I want to go and stitch one up today :) Renee, what method of transfer do you use for embroidery?? Seems I've tried them all and seem to like the old carbon paper tracing best.

SO cute. I had clothespin bags on my mind today, after coming home from JoAnns. They had a cute one but not in my colors. I love the little clothepin.

it's appropriate to put this up on a monday as "wash on monday". my dear mother made me a clothespin bag in 1984 that still looks good as new. and i always hang my clothes to dry, so it's seen a lot of work. my mother passed away in 1995 and i wouldn't think of using a different bag. i love this design though. the apron is made out of a light gold and off white ticking stripe on a duck type fabric. i think he would show up on it. would it be too terrible to embroider on my mother's apron?

I hope you are having a great week, my sweet friend!

I nominated you for the "Sunshine Award". If you decline, please know that I understand. It does require some time that you may not have...More than anything, I just want to express my admiration for your incredible blog.
Blessings,
