Ninety Nine Cents

Can you believe the price of patterns?  Honestly, they are the cost of what a tank of gas used to cost!  Most of my fabric comes from an online source and most of my patterns are either digital or self made off of an old piece.  In other words, we have the worst fabric stores here.  Thank heavens for the Internet.  Never the less, I ran out of batting and interfacing and Jo Ann's is the closest place that resembles a fabric store here.  Not a big fan...while I was waiting in line to get my notions cut at the ONE cutting counter...I perused the pattern books.

Look what I found at the sale price of $.99.  Did you know Simplicity had an entire line of Vintage patterns?  I could have stopped dead in my tracks and bought them all, but I settled on two that I knew I would make.   I think Miss E would be proud.

These are so stinkin' cute I see gifts in the future. A garland of mini aprons.  Tree ornaments?  Ha! All made with vintage fabric, I can't wait to tackle.  Remember when you used to cover your dawn dish soap in these?  The possibilities are endless.  Paper, felt, or fabric. Add a couple vintage trims and buttons.
Not bad for $.99 a piece.

I have a vintage pattern I will soon make which I bought last year from Simplicity. I haven't been to look at patterns in a real shop in over a year now. Your little felt animals are so cute. You know they are not that easy to make as I just finished up one and will post about that early tomorrow.

I did not know they had vintage patterns. I haven't even looked in a while. It seems the only thing I sew anymore is 1/4 inch quilt seams. I really like that cute little animal one!

Oh that little pink poodle is a-dor-a-ble!! Wish I was a crafty sewing gal but I'm NOT! I'll look forward to seeing a post on some of the goodies you make from these patterns. ;)

Well I not only remember the apron wearing dish soap......my dish soap bottle hasn't been gone without one in years. Once I started dressing my bottle I had to move it out from under the sink to the counter. I just love seeing the cuteness of those little aprons even when I'm not doing the dishes.....then again I do have a slight vintage apron addiction. I just recently discovered your blog and love it so. Thanks!
