Brought to you by the letter A.

I imagined this as an apron skirt.  It then moved on to a patchwork pillow top.  What came out was something altogether different.  Funny how the creative process works things through.  In the end I am pretty happy with it.  I stayed true to the lines of the hanky and the vintage style.
Miss Amy I do hope you like it.  It was such fun to make.

For those of you who don't know Amy, she is a master paper crafter.  I followed her style by layering or sandwiching.    Adding the white baby rick rack over the stitch line for an extra level of depth.

The scallops on hankies are always a favorite detail.  I added these sweet scallops to the back envelope closure back.  All about the details.

Twill tape and a stamped name finished it off.

As an ode to Amy I had to do something in paper.  This is a sweet Bingo card sent to me by the lovely Kim at Musings by Kim K.   I have been planning on getting around to it for some time.  Vintage card, wallpaper, millinery and sewing notions.

More details for the back...signature stamp and old workbook pages.

Floral compliments and green color combos.  What a fun swap this was.  I haven't decided whether it is more fun to create or receive.  Just so nice to be included.

Just as I was getting ready to place these in the box, someone decided to take a nap.  Looks like this will have to wait till tomorrow.
I am glad to be back to.  We have had the worst storms lately.  Non-stop for several days.  Joplin is a few hours from our home.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people in that town.  I have been to many wonderful little antique shops there and will miss visiting them.  Today we had another tornado touch down only blocks away with nominal damage.  It is only a test that I am sure our faith will find us through.  I wanted to let you know why I am in and out.  Our internet connection has been spotty at best.   Stay safe everyone!

Your bingo card is darling and that pillow is DIVINE! Beautiful work once again, Renee. Yes. I'd love to have along side me at my favorite antique store. Serious damage to be done. Just wait until you see my adventures at the Allegan Antique market scheduled for Sunday. We're talking 100s of vendors. Woo hoo!!

I'm horrible at paper crafts, so I always admire those that do such a beautiful job! Love the pillow too. Such a wonderful idea to use vintage hankies. All of mine are hidden away, so this would be a great way to enjoy them!

Well I can just imagine how this looks in person if it's anything like the work in my apron. You just do amazing work!
I surely hope the bad weather dies down there soon that is so horrible what has happened.

Your friends is going to LOVE the gifts you made for her!! Yes, the weather here has been crazy! We spent an hour in the basement today, hoping that the funnel would not drop down on us. (or anyone else) It was my son's first day back at his summer job... and he was smushed into the cooler with his co-workers.
