One woman's trash...

They always say...one man's trash is another man's treasure.  Today I found a sweet older women named June's treasure.  There was a lovely estate sale in an older  part of town that I just knew was going to be wonderful.  June was a keeper of all things vintage.  The house was loaded from room to room, basement to garage and every crevice in between.    These are a few of my trashy treasures.

Trash cans that make me squeal.  Claire picked the black one and I picked the cream one.

Asian inspired goodies.  Kokeski pencil set.  Look at that sweet eraser!

Vintage Christmas...corsages, ribbon spools, sheet music, six 1944 Christmas seals, a few feather tree ornaments, un-used candy box, and some plastic adornments.

Cute stationary.  Dainty Doily.  Four unused pillow cases.  Nut cups and an Ohio art recipe box.  Original box of Fuller toothbrushes new in the box.  Water lilies box and silhouette tally cards.

Nothing prepared me for the cute cards I found all over June's house.  Look at this set.  There are multiples of each.  All are sized at the 3x5.  Inside are some cute little graphics.

All of these cute cards were in the lily box still in their cellophane bag.  No yellowing!  No marks!  Simply beautiful.
I could have stayed all day and not looked at every thing.  There was just so much.  It has been so long since I hit an estate sale I could have stayed all day...but I had a voice calling me..."Mom, look at this!"
I have to mention my super helper Claire (daughter) who helped me stage and take photos today.  Her extra eyes and hands were fabulous to have today!
Oh, but there is more...they haven't even opened up the upstairs.  What's upstairs?  All of June's mothers stuff. I will be back next week to check all of that out.  In the mean time I am going to be imagining what Miss June's mothers name was...

Hi Renee,

I'm so jealous! Sales out here just don't compare to those around the country, and I'm wishin' I were rich enough to be able to travel all around. You are definitely blessed by the vintage Gods.

Hugs,
Meri

Treasures indeed, love the sweet cards ! I bet it would've been fun to sit and chat with June I only hope there are "treasure" hunters like you Renee when one day my stuff hits a sale table ... on another note I hope my stuff hits a sale table and not the trash !! :)

Oh my stars!! June I know is smilin' knowing her treasures are now in such wonderful care. The trash cans I am giddy over. I searched high and low for cans such as those when we redid our bedroom. None were to be found. Unless they were in an antique shop with prices that made my eyeballs pop out of socket. I can't wait to see what June's mother has kept behind the doors all these years.
And the cards...OH MY!!! I see myself turning green with envy right before my very eyes! LOL

Loving June. Loving her! She kept the best stuff and what an awesome sale. I would be tempted to fly out your way to check out the upstairs with you -- hope it holds even more treasures. I think I would be dreaming about the upstairs for the week to come!

What a great sale - I would have bought those same things, especially the trash cans. Love those! I think I would be camping out in the front yard waiting for the upstairs to open. I can hardly wait to see the next installment.

Ooo! My mom had a recipe box JUST like that! But of course I forgot all about that box until I saw it here! That's one of the things I love about vintage treasure hunting- it opens closed memories! Well, hurray for June and all her treasure keeping!! ♥

Renee, the little cards are really cute. And the trash bins are just lovely!! I'd use those to store rolls of wrapping paper or something like that, not garbage. You have found some really wonderful treasures this week! Estate sales really are the best place, because every little thing gets pulled out from the closets and basements, where it has been forgotten for years.

I love June, and I have a feeling I'm going to love Mabel (that's what I'm guessing June's mother's name is) even more! Such wonderful treasures you brought home!
