New Look...New Room?

While my blog was busy being updated I busied myself with the very necessary cleaning of my studio.  I hauled a wagon load of clutter out and reworked both the walls and the floor space.  I love junk just as much as the next person, but I hate clutter even more.  I only purchased a few small items to get the big impact that I wanted.  This is my vintage design on a $30 dollar budget.

Reworked the tray wall as I call it and consolidated two bulletin boards.  It is finally sunny today, hence the glare.  I framed my new coloring book in an old frame that I spray painted red. The pony picture found its place with the pretty red pinstripe above it.

The sewing table was cleared of clutter and all of the pictures on this wall were removed to make room for the ever growing spools.  My vintage hankies are picture perfect in these thrift store hoops that I picked up for a dollar.

A bulletin board used to sit above this case, but it seemed too heavy for this wall.  I have had these great pin ups for some time and I wanted them to be showcased.  This seems like a more fitting wall scape.

My wire shelf was loaded down and completely unusable.  I pitched so much that was useless.  Just like in primary school, like things were grouped together.  It is so handy now.

This file holder was a dollar at the thrift store but I wasn't sure what to do with it.  It lingered around for some time until I realized that it would be a wonderful vintage greeting card holder.  This way I can see them and change them as the seasons change.

This picture doesn't do this justice I have to say.  My new pin ups are a dream.  I love these nursery cardboard plaques from the 50s and 60s.  These were my splurge from Etsy.  Except when they arrived, a few of the gang were headless.  After some rough postal riding they didn't fair so well.  The wonderful ladies refunded me 75% and I made the necessary repairs.  So maybe I didn't splurge too much.  Just don't look too close!

I dream of hoosiers.  Love them. They don't fit into my tiny budget though.  This one is just my size.  I rescued this poor thing from certain death.  Hardly even recognizable, this poor thing got a full coat of paint and multiple metal straightening.
I could only save the doors from the original paint.  I had to keep the decals.  I cannot accept this design as my own.  The fantastic Kim of Musing of Kim K. came up with this.  I'm just a copy cat.  Her craft room is a great place to visit and see how she displays all her vintage treasures.  She is a wonderful lady.  This is my ode to all the Primary Girls!

I found these records a while ago at an estate sale and just loved the color and graphics.  Then I happened upon a batch of curtain pins.  I put them together and got great impact above the door.
Kim has these too....

I really enjoyed pulling things together and working with what I had.  When I was a little girl I loved moving my furniture around.  Things never change.  Now that everything is clean and tidy I am ready to get to work...

I love the way it turned out! Very clever idea to put the hankies in the hoops. That one is a keeper and I would borrow it myself if I had an inch of wall space left. I think I need to do a little editing, too!

I can't believe how many of the same things you have in your studio as I have in mine(right down to the children's record albums, metal dish cupboard and dollhouse). We would have so much fun thrifting and antiquing together. I just love your studio tour. Thank you for sharing.
