Mending Monday...Aviary

Running very late again today. I will spare you my laundry list of duties and get right to the good stuff. I found a very large amount of birds grouped together in the Sears patterns. Small in size and perfect for bibs, tea towels, pillows or hankies.

Perhaps I am biased but this does remind me of my beloved Jayhawks, in a vintage version.

Mending Monday---Princesses and Paupers

Windy fall days are around the corner. I can feel it in the morning when I open the door to let the dogs out. There have already been days on the bleachers at ball games for fall ball. Finally, an end to the long, dry, very hot summer.
Today, I have more sweet images from LBP gift

Perfect for bibs, pillows, dresses anything really.

Just a peek at what's in my hoop this week. Hankies are always my favorite place to stitch.

Mending Monday--Homemaker Towels

A few weeks  ago I received an envelope from Linda of LBP Sews. She had written to see if I was interested in some transfers that she had found. Never one to turn down transfers this envelope held some of the most beautiful transfer patterns I have ever seen.

I had no idea that Sears Roebuck made transfers. Betty Burton produced these transfers exclusively for Sears in the 20's and 30's.  There are over 100 images in this packet and only one is missing. I couldn't be luckier.

This week I am sharing the amazing days of the week homemaker with her exquisite art deco shape.

I imagine these on a sweet set of towels. Perhaps a quilt without the words. A pillow or even a Bible cover.

A few of you asked for the images that I used on the little notebooks. I bought these vintage nursery transfer patterns off eBay a while back.  They are the perfect tiny size.

Thank you Linda for a wonderful treasure.

Mending Monday--Angels

Mending Monday brings out angels. At first glance I thought these were on pillowcases but then I took a better look and they appear to be on towels of some sort.  I think a newborn pillow would be perfect.

How cute on a stocking for a little one?

My own mending brought me back to tablecloths.

Meet the "Wilendur Women".

They might not all be Wilendur but I couldn't resist.

I am not sure where to go with these yet but I love where they came from.

Mending Monday--A basket and more...

This is a book I picked up recently. Ginger was the name of my oldest Preschool crush. Incidentally, it was also the name of our cat Reagan before we found out she was a he. The pictures inside are really sweet and I will be scanning them in all week.

This one is a little different from the earlier apron in that it is an embroidered basket and not a pocket. I love the spilling of the flowers.

Try your best to match up the flowers. I was able to catch the basket edge to help guide you.

In the upper corner of the pattern I spied this darling curtain trimmed in flowers.
Love this test design.

Playing around with embroidered images myself these days. A current work in progress. More fabric bins.

I found this vintage baby quilt top at the flea market and although it was in bad shape the embroidery work is beautiful.

I couldn't beat the price or the images.

You can see how faded the fabric is on the left lower corner.

Think of all the bins I can make out of these? Maybe a few pillows too.

Over the weekend another blogger asked about this sweet laundry cart that was gifted to me by the sweet Renee of Sewn with Grace.
(Excuse the thread. I have been sewing all day.)

I adore it and use it to hold fabric that I am currently working with.

Thanks for all the comments and questions. I hope to be listing more items by the end of the week.
