Buddy

It was a sweet gift that two moms were going to give their best friend daughters.  Unfortunately one of those darling daughters caught the stomach flu.  Graciously, their tickets were extended to my husband and youngest son.  A night of family conversation and a lifetime of memories with Buddy.

Front row...so close we could touch.

That is hunger in our eyes...for the cupcakes and cakes on the stage.

Then it happened...Claire was chosen to ice a cupcake...sunflower...with Buddy!  This child promises to be a baker.  Dreams of icing cakes. Asks every year for a piping set.  Last year I put fondant in her stocking...this is a dream come true.

Then she got to keep it.  Do you think she will let me keep it under glass and shellac it?

A gift for her stage performance...a signed apron.

He is an amazing baker, beautiful artist in his own right, incredible entrepreneur, but by far one of nicest family men I have met in some time.

Even stopping for a family photo after the show.  My oldest wants me to photoshop him into the background.  Can we safely call this a Christmas Card photo?

soo much fun, renee. especially for your sweet claire, love the sunflower cupcake. love the family pics, you're a stunning bunch.

my oldest is our baker, and she loves her frosting/piping set. it makes birthday and holiday shopping easy for the aunties, they just shower her with baking supplies (and ask that she bring the dessert).

AWESOME! What fun for Claire to have something like that happen...a memory forever.

Great photo...and I think with a little photoshop action it could be that one of a kind Christmas card!

Hey Girlfriend,

What fun! I used to bake and decorate wedding and party cakes for about 13 years, and I watch his show sometimes. Being the perfectionist I am, I sometimes get upset with the stuff they do on the show, but I realize it's probably for the show, so I hope they really don't break all the health code things I see. I'm really anal that way having been in management in the food industry for over 30 years. What a fun treat for your daughter, she's probably still on cloud 9! You probably will have to shellac that cupcake!

Hugs,
Meri

What a neat thing to happen for your DD! Yes, that has to be your Christmas card!

I have to ask. Who is he? Is he a Food Network star? I haven't been watching FN for some time now.

How exciting! I love how one of yours has 'promised' to be a baker. I'm trying to get one of mine to 'promise' to be a hairdresser!!!

Anyway, got something to show you...

What a thrill for all of you but especially Claire! Fun! I'll be in Hoboken, NJ visiting my daughter next week. I'm sure we'll stop at Buddy's for a cannoli if the line is not down the street and around the corner.
