Applique...quilting? I marvel at it, dabble in it, try my best. It seems I am still just outside the circle of getting it right. Rather than start large like I have before I thought I would try small...perhaps pocket size.
Playful Patchwork is a wonderful book that took me step by step through the process. Gathering up all my little pieces of fabric from an early estate sale by color. I added just a few new pieces to tie them together.
Using the freezer paper method of paper piecing I finished up a pocket sized square and added a ruffle and button embellishment.
Lining chosen from a vintage tablecloth.
Loop attached for dishrags.
Denim ruffle and strings.
Linen backdrop perfect for a crisp look.
Just as cute on the inside.

OH how cute!! :o)
You did a beautiful job!
Have a wonderful week.

Just when I think you can't find another clever way to dress up an apron, you do it AGAIN! Darling! I love the mix of fabric with the denim. Lovely.
Wow this is lovely on both sides you always make them so substantial they should last for years!
Your apron is so cute. Love all the fabrics. Playful Patchwork looks like a fun book.
Hugs

How sweet! I love that "small" notion. I find that, more and more, I really gravitate to projects I can complete in a short amount of time. One of those things that life in the modern world seems to have done to my attention span. Or, at least, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
So cute! And I love that it's reversible for two different looks.
ooohhh that is gorgeous ;-)) well done you. dee x
Not sure which side I like best - they're both great! I was at a friend's house today, admiring her quilts - some 19th century applique that just amazed me. I don't know how those women did it.
