A kitchen of trees...

My dear readers prepare yourself for my boy's ruthless sports tree.  There are three boys (yes my husband is included in this) have dedicated one corner in our Hearth Kitchen to our beloved Jayhawks and all ornaments related to sports.

Try as I might by adding a vintage tree skirt this slim tree is decorated with baseball players, ESPN theme song playing ornaments, golf balls, fishing bait, you name it. Below are a few of the less tacky ornaments. (There are plans to move this into the currently renovating library next year)

Yes, they do make them in every shape and color for this dreamy college.

Counter tops are blissfully decorated.

Kitchen nooks set just so.

Tiny trees full of miniatures dangle between the wing chairs for closer inspection.

Even "Tink" knows what I am thinking...

Stockings for pets hung by the boughs. While the neighbor and friends gifts await their exchange.  Alas should you think it is all commercial and little vintage I have saved the best tree for last.  Please stick around for tomorrows reveal.

You know I totally appreciate your boys special tree after doing a super hero tree this June for Josie's birthday. It's perfect. I've always admired your green baby carriage and it's just lovely for Christmas. I can't wait to see your big reveal tomorrow. First thing tomorrow morning I'm posting my holly jolly vintage Christmas tour! Hugs!

This made me smile -- my mother was a Jayhawk many years ago. :-)

You are very welcome! So glad it arrived safe and sound and before Christmas. I can't imagine anyone else having it. Your sports tree looks very similar to a tree in our basement. It's UofM on my tree though. We have the same little snowman tree and ornaments (of course we do!). Can't wait to see your tree tomorrow! Blessings!

Renee, I think it is delightful that you give the guys their own tree! I spent many years prowdly displaying the pot-pie tins decorated with school pictures ringed in glitter. About the time they reached their mid-twenties I politely asked if they would mind if I didn't use those anymore and took over the tree as mine own. They are all lovingling packed away in the attic for them to deal with when I am no longer in this world. My little revenge - hehe!
