The Mall Tree

We are trying to cram it all in in these last few days before the kids are out of school.  I think the teachers are trying too as well.  Last minute projects and multiple concerts for each one have my hands tied.  The glow of the trees is the only thing keeping me going around here.

This is our mall tree.  It graces our living room at a ridiculous ten feet.  How unfortunate we were to get vaulted ceilings when we moved in.  Every tree we tried looked miniature.  Now, before you think that this just a normal tree wait..this is my husbands tree.

We are only allowed to place Hallmark ornaments on his beloved mall tree.

It doesn't hurt when they have such wonderful vintage like ornaments for me.  Each year we riffle through the dream book and pick out which new ones we must have.  StarWars to fishing.  Fisher Price to movie characters.

Barbara even Dora finds herself on our tree.  These mark the memories and milestones from the past.  Merry Christmas

I love your mall tree and it's fun to see all your special ornaments. That fisher price house ornament is fabulous. My parents still have our fp home at their house for the grandkids. We also have a larger than life tree with our vaulted ceilings. I call it our church tree. I haven't taken any pictures of it yet, but I need to. Don't tell my husband but my slender vintage filled tree in the sunroom is still my favorite one. We took my father in law to see a train village at one of our local malls today and then we came back home and set up our multiple trains in our basement. I don't think he's ever going to want to leave.

Christmas hugs!

Yikes - me thinks a ladder is required!! I love that your husband has his own tree and actually collects ornaments. How fun is that!

I live in terror that my husband will stumble across one of these alternative-tree posts.
;-) I suspect a Star Wars tree would be a close second to a 'sports' tree. Egads.

Merry Christmas, Renee!

I LOVE hallmark ornies. Ive only ever bought a few of them, but I love them. I was just admiring a friends tree last night and she has a ton of them. I used to pick up their dream book and try to "copy" some of their ideas (penquins and snowmen on jinglebells).
My ceilings are only about 9 feet .. so your tree would not fit in my house! lol
Merry Christmas to you and your family REnee!

Aw, how sweet, Renee! My husband appreciates our tree but I don't think it's ever occurred to him to be involved decorating it! ♥

Ya, sure, like you have no control over Christmas in your house.........ho, ho, ho, your husband's tree, that's funny......just kidding. If my husband had his way, our house would be bedecked inside and out with lights, plastic blow-ups, the whole shebang. We're too freakin' old to be playin' like that. However, I should just about have my decorating done by Christmas....egads, I only have a few days left....aaaaaaghhhh!

Love ya'
Meri

I would have to put the actual (vintage) Fisher Price toys under that tree along with some pix of vintage children (aka Mommy and Daddy) playing with them! Hee hee! I'm the Grama now with those treasures and Little People in my toy box for my grandchildren when they visit.

I'm so glad I bought my little Fisher Price house and clock ornament in Sept. 'cuz they are all sold out now. Think I'll keep mine out on the bookshelf all year with its "big brother"...I also have the frig. They do have a lot of cute retro ornaments at Hallmark...I definitely need a tree just for all the Barbie ornaments alone!
