While putting the final touches on my last Christmas cleanup I was struck by the Blue book. Lazily slumped on the shelf at the local thrift store this past year I made no hesitation in bringing it home.
Unfortunately, I did not stop and take the time to look through the glorious pages. Today I found myself caught up in it like a novel. Full of Post-War Etiquette.
A smattering of photos that are timelessly decorated.
Clever words and how tos of what to say, where to go, how to be. Something we could use a good dose of I think.
Then just as I flipped the page...out came a flier! Sweetly illustrated...

Renee that book is so sweet. Yes kids today lack a lot of this and it's really nice when you see parents who have taken the time to teach them manners.
I will box up some shells and stones for the kids.
What a Beautiful little treasure you have there... I believe I have a My Vintage Mending Library Card.. So I will be buy to check this one out.. :)
Children are people - I LOVE that!!
Etiquette, such a lost art, like spelling and cooking. None of the kids seem to have these values now a days!

I love the Children Are People flier! The illustrations are sweet, but what it says is even more important to me. Lets just say that I wish more parents had read that part about parenthood being a special privilege before they had kids.
You know...some of my headaches this holiday season....were etiquette related. I wea brought up with this stuff crammed into my mind..habits...and life. Then when I entertain...even for my children and close ones..I still kick into the etiquette freak.From the table settings to proper way of serving a buffett...yikes..I am not controlling I am a Etiquette Nut so this is my mom's fault.....lol
