Vintage Story Book Friday

(I am quite sure that this book speaks for itself)

However, I would like to note that Dean Bryant the illustrator might be a second favorite behind Ruth E. Newton.  These are some of the sweetest images I have ever seen.

Each illustration was matched to a beautiful bible verse.  Short and sweet for young children to understand.

I chuckled when I saw the tag still stuck to the back...I am sure I would have paid more than a quarter for it...

Eeek, so much cuteness. I adore that image with the blossoms and bluebirds - it is everything I love about vintage illustration.

These illustrations are just gorgeous. I had books like this in the 60's and I just loved them. Its sad as Sandy says in one of the earlier comments that children today probably wouldn't enjoy reading a book like this anymore. Thanks for sharing something so special - Sharon

Cute, cute, cute!! I love mama's hairstyle. :0
I love little books like this to keep around for my grandchildren. One of their favorite traditions is for me to read them a book before bedtime and this would be one that I hope they would choose time and time again.
