Vintage Valentine

Pink and Red
Today's Valentines don't hold a candle to the sweet images of old.

Cherub Faces
No super hero's, stickers or tattoos.

Animal Friends
I don't even think I put candy with my Valentine growing up.

Old Friends
Just the hand written signature and care in picking out a card that made its way to all my friends and class mates.

This would certainly be the Valentine I would pick over and over again.

Completely wonderful...every single one of them. I'm working on a vintage Valentine makeover of my blog later tonight. Bring on the pink & red!

You are absolutely right about today's valentines...They are nothing compared to yesterday's with their beautiful images. I am always on the lookout for them when I visit an antique mall or estate sale.

You have featured some beauties!

Many hugs,
Cindy

Nothing better than the old stuff! Love the last one with that magic needle!

Those are so cute. I agree. They don't make them like they use to.

Just makes me smile when I find these old jems. Like I have found a diamond or something of today's value. Smiles...Renee

Why don't they just start reprinting old cards? I loved getting a valentine from the boy I had a crush on, of course it was his mother's idea, she would make sure everyone in the class would get one! I didn't know that at the time, I thought I was special, what a hoot! Thanks for sharing these Renee, xoxox.

Renee,
A few years ago I came across a package of vintage Valentines that my Mom had held onto that hadn't been used one year in school...I have a sick feeling as I have not seen them since, that I put them int he wrong box, and they ended up in the trash....I worry about it every year about this time....it just makes me sick! I SO loved the old time Valentines!

I totally agree, Renee! Your valentines are darling. My favorites are the anthropomorphic ones:)

BTW, your comment on my wearing sweats post made me laugh out loud! Sorry I popped your bubble;)

The little girl with the overalls is wonderful, they all are, but she has captured my fancy. My daughter wore overalls a lot as a girl, she was quite the tomboy.

These are so much better than the ones today. These have just made my day. Thanks!

Your vintage valentines are very sweet. That last one is perfect for you! I think the valentines they make for kids to give these days are just plain boring!

Ha, you asked me if the children still had chalkboards in school... I think they are called tablets now, LOL. Do they still have paper and pencils and such, or is everything digital?
