Nursery Stitches

I have stolen as many moments as I could in the past few very busy days  to finish up a hand stitching project. I bought this lovely vintage "like" nursery fabric from Sew Deerly Loved. Since it arrived the need to cut and stitch it has been overwhelming.

Geometric shapes and smiling faces trimmed in linen.

Perle cotton ties in each corner to keep it neat.

Softly quilted in the ditch to give it dimension.

I was thrilled to have worked out the edge this time. Something that looks so easy has baffled me more times than I would like to admit. I finally sat and worked it out before I put a stitch in it with pins. Genius idea...no?

A tiny quilt that finally made its way to the finish line.

Just as the week of "finishes" comes to an end with summer break starts tomorrow afternoon.

My studio is calling me. Like a lonely and forgotten piece of furniture draped in canvas for the seasons end. I am returning just as soon as the doors close to the school....with my running shoes on!
See you tomorrow.

That new little Singer machine must be lots of fun! I learned on my Grama's Singer Featherlite that Mom had inherited. Now I have a Husquvarna Viking that should be doing a lot more work than it does!

Super cute fabric and your hexagon shaped blocks look great on the plain background!

What a sweet, sweet little quilt! I love it!
BTW, if you're ever interested to try doing artwork like mine, let me know, and I can send you a copy of my book! It focuses more on "scrapbook-y" kind of stuff, but you'd probably find some stuff you'd like!
