Meet the Squeaks

The only dolls I had as a child were a My First Barbie and a Kermit the Frog puppet.  My parents were very simplistic and preferred that we be out doors. Imagine why I get so fascinated with all the vintage toys I find.  These little Sun Rubber Co. Ruth E. Newton dolls are right up my alley as I have told you before.  Last week I happily added a plethora of these after a winning bid on eBay.

Meet my family of squeaks...

and oh yes I have named each and every one of them.

This is little Doctor Dan.  I saw him recently on flickr and knew I need to have him as my husband shares his profession.  Dr. Dan is the youngest of the crew...so far.

Twins Timmy and Tommy are always in trouble.  Quietly hiding snakes and toads in their sisters things.

Big brother Benny saving the day again.  He saved his sister Jenny from certain squeals by taking the toad off her dinner chair.

Altogether in a row Dr. Dan, Twins Timmy and Tommy, Little Betsy, Miss Jenny and Big Brother Benny.

Blue eyes like their mother and locks of curls like their dad.  Then their is little Dr. Dan who is the spitting image of his father in so many ways.

A family I am excited to add to and photograph over and over....

Such a cute post! I've always been such a doll lover! My little brother and I had the Ernie and Bert puppets, probably from the same manufacturer as your Kermit puppet! I can still smell the plastic.

Have a great week ahead.
Take care,
Holly

Wow! What a darling little famil! We love these dolls. We have never seen the little boy with the frog behind his back, how darling! What a bummer that you didn't get to go thrift this weekend, but these make up for it :)

Thanks for sharing,

Oh how cute! You know what these kinda remind me of? Big Boy Burgers. Well, OK, Squeaks are much cuter than Big Boy. (Isn't it fun to play with kids toys when you are a grown up?)

I use to have a little rubber doll in green clothes that I LOVED when I was little. His name was Billy!

I could almost hate you, if I didn't love you so much.....you stinker! Okay, that's out of my system!

I know I should be saying all kinds of sweet things, but it would only be partly true. I get extremely jealous and I'm not ashamed to admit it. YOu are one lucky gal finding all these goodies. Because I care about you so much, I'm not gonna' hop on a plane and come out there to steal these.....but it's very tempting.

Love ya girlfriend,
Meri

I love your rubber babies. I don't think I have ever seen these before. I know my grandkids could use a little simplicity in their stack of toys.

They are so adorable! Even though I never had one, I do remember them. And the fact that you named them and have stories to go along with them makes it all the more fun!

I am always on the lookout for these, but rarely find them- then when I do, they're too expensive for me... Oh well, something to keep me going back to the thrifts, right?
